Here's the thing that's going to screw you.the tube mag for those oldies is rare as hen's teeth. Worse than that, that old-style tube mag had a tendancy to fail at the button-locking mechanism. So even if you found one the right length, it'd probably break fairly quickly due to its design and metal fatigue. Good news, since you said you want a shooter.you can use a Modern one off a 39A if you are somewhat adept at modifying metal. Look for one that holds 18 rds from a 39A or Marlin 60.pre-1996.
